.

Backed by leading research institutions in Switzerland and Europe, the Geneva Science-Policy Interface (GSPI) is an independent, neutral platform that strives to enhance scientific engagement with global governance actors within the international Geneva ecosystem. By supporting collaborations between scientists, policy, and implementation actors, the GSPI contributes to facilitate the emergence of effective, evidence-informed policies and solutions to complex global problems.

The main role of the GSPI is to create opportunities for, and support the design and implementation of impactful collaboration that contribute to evidence-based policymaking within the Geneva ecosystem. It supports boundary spanners across the policy, implementation and scientific communities who strive to coalesce for specific purposes or to build sustainable and long-term partnerships.

The Geneva Science-Policy Interface (GSPI) is an initiative launched by the University of Geneva in 2018 with the support of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.

The GSPI is neither an association, a foundation, nor a for-profit organisation. The GSPI is affiliated to the University of Geneva, which acts as the GSPI’s main partner, offering administrative and financial support to the GSPI. In addition to the University of Geneva, the GSPI Governing Board constitutes of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID), the League of European Research Universities (LERU), CERN, the University of Zurich, ETH Zurich and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
