The ASI (Association Suisse des Infirmières et Infirmiers in French) is the professional association of all nurses working in the most varied fields of activity and functions. It represents their interests, together with its members. In this sense, it also represents the interests of all other professional groups involved in the nursing process. With some 25'000 members, it is one of the largest professional associations in the health sector.
Founded in 1920, ASI Geneva brings together nursing professionals practicing in the Canton, regardless of nationality or domicile.
Through permanent dialogue and representation in numerous working groups and commissions, it participates in the elaboration and implementation of the cantonal policy on health and nursing practice.
ASI Geneva encourages training, improvement, professional and personal development. It is committed to improving the working conditions and salaries of nurses.
ASI Geneva is committed to quality care practices that meet the expectations of patients. In the face of economic and technological pressures that threaten to reduce care to a minimal and standardized service, it defends the importance of keeping the patient at the center of concerns and of offering him or her individualized care, close to the patient and respecting his or her role as a partner.
Convinced that the defense of the interests of the nurse and the patient often go hand in hand, ASI Geneva is committed to the promotion of nursing as an autonomous profession and to the strengthening of the position of nurses in relation to other health care actors.
ASI Geneva is a legally autonomous body of ASI Switzerland. Within its area of responsibility, ASI Geneva works to achieve the goals of ASI, in accordance with its statutes.
